“Mr. Turner” explores the late life of great and idiosyncratic artist J.M.W. Turner (1775-1851), who must face that his career is in decline. Following his father’s death, the biopic follows grouchy Turner (Timothy Spall) through painting, traveling, brothels, anarchy and aristocracy – even once strapping himself to the mast of a sailboat to paint a snowstorm.

The film is written and directed by Mike Leigh, who is known for his critically acclaimed “Secrets and Lies” (1996), “Vera Drake” (1994) and “Happy Go Lucky” (2008).

“Mr. Turner” is set to release December 19th.

On Tour with Leonard Cohen

Book by Sharon Robinson

“On Tour with Leonard Cohen” documents the wildly successful Leonard Cohen World Tour through the eyes of his friend and longtime collaborator, Sharon Robinson. When Cohen’s manager stole his life savings in 2004, he was forced out of planned retirement and into what has become a legendary six year sojourn. “On Tour with Leonard Cohen” is an allusive, behind the scenes view of what it was like to travel the world with the legendary singer-songwriter poet. Robinson, who has been associated with Cohen since the Field Commander Cohen tour of 1979-80, captures and reveals with complete freedom the reality of day-to-day life on the road, onstage and backstage, and the chemistry of Cohen and his supporting artists, together on a journey across the globe.

What My Daughter Wore

Book by Jennifer Williams

“What My Daughter Wore” is the printed follow-up to Brooklyn artist Jenny Williams’s much talked-about blog. In 2011, Williams launched “What My Daughter Wore” to document sketches of her daughter Clementine’s sartorial choices. What emerged was a virtual conversation about the eccentric and at times emblematic style of a 21st century tween female, with Clementine and her friends as muses. “At that age it’s still possible to find kids dressing entirely for themselves, without regard for trends or peer pressure,” explains Williams. The book version of “What My Daughter Wore” is a vivid curation of Williams’s original colored pencil sketches.
