I went to hang and shoot with Maly in her studio at her home in Long Beach on a Saturday morning. When I walked up, she was sitting on the front porch with her boyfriend Noah and her new puppy Copper.

What do you like most about your line of work?
There are so many reasons why I enjoy being involved in art and it’s hard to distinguish what I like most so here is what comes up in my head first! I get the honor of meeting incredibly talented creatives day by day during photo shoots and social media!

What inspires you?
I often find myself inspired by the sunrise/sunset and the way the light hits people and foliage.

Do you recall your first favorite t-shirt?
Ah! An old white Pendleton tee that I eventually outgrew.

What’s next for you?
More life. Things change so drastically, I never quite know what to expect.

How would you describe your style?
Chinese grandmother with a French twist.

What do you do when you are not working?
I run around with my boyfriend, shoot some film, eat a lot of good food and constantly play with our puppy Copper.
