the phoenix foundation
Since the ‘sexpose’ in Issue#7
on The Phoenix Foundation and the personal life of Luke Buda,
things have been humming along nicely. Luke’s solo record
“Special Surprise” is coming out on Arch Hill
records in March and it’s a corker. To me (and I am
biased having known the man for 15 years) it’s a personal
journey through Luke’s life with his sweetheart Sarah and
their road to the birth of an awesome little chap called Moses.
It sounds like Duran Duran if they were heaps better and
didn’t take any coke.
Phoenix put out
“Pegasus” in mid 2005 on FMR records which was
swiftly gobbled up by Warners. How the fck did that happen? Ah
well FMR was owned by news corp anyway so I guess we have
jumped from one evil pillar of society to a pillar of equal or
lesser evil. Although Warners is much more ‘the big scary
record company’ ... something this group has always been
wary of. The album has done great though and we are gonna take
our shtick to New York and London in May/June to show those
bastards that you don’t need skinny legs and cool hair to
make good guitar music.
I have also made a solo record under
the guise of my project ‘Bunnies On Ponies’.
It’s called “The Cobra In The Carpet” and is
quite folky sorta but not really.
