In loving memory of
bob richardson
January 3 1928 - December 5, 2005
For those who know Bob there is no need
for explanation, but to most others it must be said that Bob is
one of the most important names in the history of fashion
photography: one that should be as well-known as Helmut Newton,
Richard Avedon, or Bruce Weber. If you start to dig around, you
will hear all kinds of stories about this ‘beautiful
monster’, yet what remains consistently is his
undoubtedly first-rate talent. His son Terry, extremely
now
well known for his own career as a fashion
photographer, with numerous books
published
including Son of Bob and Terryworld, is
working on getting the 1st book of Bob’s work ever
published. I had the privilege of working with Bob, heard
fantastic stories first hand, and read the 200 pages of his
hand written, unpublished memoirs. Terry is supposed to be
publishing this manuscript entitled “Outsider”.
Thus, I am not going to try to explain about Bob, just urge all
to read the book when released, since nothing can capture the
intricacies of Bob’s life better than the magic of his
own words.
